Rodrigo Bitar

Managing Director

Rodrigo Bitar is Founder and Managing Director of Toro Advisors. He has advised on mergers and acquisitions transactions across Latin America in a wide range of industries including retail, technology, banking, food and real estate.

Prior to founding Toro Advisors, Rodrigo was a Partner at M&A boutique Athelera LLC from 2003 to 2014. With over 16 years of experience in cross-border M&A transactions in Latin America, he has worked on mandates in a wide range of industries including retail, technology, banking, food and real estate.

From 1999 to 2003, Rodrigo was a Vice President at Violy, Byorum & Partners, where he participated in creating a Latin America focused Private Equity fund in partnership with Caisse de Depot of Canada. Earlier in his career, Rodrigo led a number of ventures including a Chile-based real estate investment fund, as well as the Fundación Mercator and Fundación Región y Desarrollo.

Rodrigo was campaign manager for Mr. Sergio Bitar's successful race for the Senate, and later Chief of Staff during the Senator's first year in office. Rodrigo holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a MS and BS in Electrical Engineering from the Universidad de Chile, where he graduated with highest honors.

Paula Carriço

Director

Paula Carriço is a Director at Toro Advisors with a focus on M&A and strategic financial advisory with deep knowledge of Latin America where she has had active involvement in over 50 transactions.

Paula Carriço is a Director at Toro Advisors and has 17 years in investment banking with a focus on M&A and strategic financial advisory. She has an international background with deep knowledge of Latin America where she has had active involvement in over 50 transactions.

Paula worked at Athelera LLC, Violy, Byorum & Partners, both NY-based M&A boutiques, providing strategic advisory and capital raising capability to clients across sectors including telecom, airline, gaming and packaging industries. She began her investment banking career as a Corporate Finance Analyst at Lehman Brothers in the Latin America Group.

Paula holds a Master in Environmental & Energy Analysis from Boston University and a BA in Economics from Universidad de Belgrano in Buenos Aires.

Eric Sevillia

Vice President

Eric Sevillia is Vice President at Toro Advisors. Eric worked previously at Athelera LLC and Credit Suisse in the Latin American division, providing strategic and financial advisory services on M&A and capital raising mandates to clients in Latin America.

Eric Sevillia is Vice President at Toro Advisors which he joined in 2014. Eric has 7 years in investment banking having worked previously at Athelera LLC and Credit Suisse in the Latin American division, providing strategic and financial advisory services on M&A and capital raising mandates to clients in Latin America.

In 2010, Eric worked at Anvil Advisors, providing valuation and financial advisory to emerging growth companies with a particular focus on portfolio valuations for hedge funds and venture capital managers. From 2008 to 2009, Eric worked at Aleutian Capital Partners providing M&A advisory to middle market private equity funds by identifying and sourcing platform, stand-alone and add-on opportunities.

Eric holds a Bachelor Degree in Science with a double major in Economics and Finance from the Stern School of Business from New York University.

Maria Elena Carrión is the founder and Managing Partner of Multicultural Capital, LLC (MCC).

Maria Elena is the founder and Managing Partner of Multicultural Capital, LLC. (MCC), a consulting services boutique based in San Juan, P.R. which focuses on projects and investments in renewable energy, the financial services industry and middle-market transactions in the Hispanic market.

Prior to founding MCC, Maria Elena was managing director and head of the emerging markets team at Prudential Investments and at Bankers Trust. Her funds at both consistently outperformed their benchmarks and were top-quartile ranked in their respective categories. Maria Elena started her career at US Trust and was one of the founding team members of London-based Latin American Securities, Ltd.

She holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BS from the Wharton School, Univ. of Pennsylvania. Maria Elena is a member of the CFA Institute, the NY Society of Security Analysts, the Puerto Rico Energy Cluster, Argyle Executive Forum Energy Community, the Women in Infrastructure Group, and the Women's Conservation Forum.

Mauricio Pozo

Mauricio is CEO of Multienlace, a consultancy company based in Quito, Ecuador. He has acted as President of the Board of Coris del Ecuador and as CEO of Holding Conclina, Hospital Metropolitano. Prior to his activities in the private sector, Mauricio was Minister of Economy and Finance of Ecuador (2003 – 2004) which followed a number of roles including acting President of the Board of AGD, Banco del Estado, and SRI. He was the Principal Governor of IDB, World Bank, IMF and former Director of the Andean Development Bank among other positions.

He is the recipient of a number of awards including “Man of the Year 2003”, awarded by the Quito Chamber of Commerce, and the “Isabela Católica, 2004” awarded by King Juan Carlos I, Spain.

Mauricio holds a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Notre Dame, a Diploma Magna Cum Laude from the Economics Institute at University of Colorado and a Diploma in Health Delivery Program from Harvard Business School.

Nathan Engelhard

New Edge Capital

Nathan Engelhard is Founder and Managing Partner at New Edge Capital, an asset management company serving high net worth families in Latin America.

Prior to founding New Edge Capital, Nathan established the Latin American Private Institutional Client Group (PIC) at Deutsche Bank where he managed a sales & trading desk dealing with the largest family offices in the region. Prior to Deutsche Bank, Nathan worked for 16 years in global equity derivatives structuring and sales roles at Societe Generale, Bankers Trust, UBS, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank and Lehman Brothers/Barclays.

He holds and an MBA degree from New York University and an Industrial Engineering degree from Universidad de Lima.
